Oh my GAWD! For the past few hours I’ve been knee deep in my ‘Tanning Loft’ playlist finalizing it with some of my favorite classic summer songs. Of course, I dusted the cob webs off my Fun-Fun section, then went from there. Mental telepathy anyone? Then again, Fun-Fun always makes an appearance on my Summer Playlists!
Yes, ‘Colour My Love’ brings me right back to my ‘Sharp’ boom box (with ‘Double Cassette’). It was silver with dark blue trim. It was really skinny, but wide with a cool handle. I loved it – it was one of my favorites. I got it at Caesars Bay Bazaar (not kidding!) and Fun Fun used to BLARE out of it!
Then of course there was ‘Baila Bolero’ (also making an appearance this year), which brings me right back to Francesca and her 14 babies (hamsters) and the debut of Madonna’s new, cropped hair-cut and her ‘new, more grown up’ sound.
‘Happy Station’ and 'Living in Japan' were a later indulgence – that was the ‘Nick Kamen’ and ‘Have A Cigar’ summer – which are also all making appearances on ‘the loft’!
Does anyone even know what the fuck I am talking about?! ;) Wow, it’s late, and I have that ‘Music Wired’ thing going on. I need to go to sleep…
