She had devoted her time to caring for her home and family.
Her first grandchild inspired the couple to create what became a series of wooden angel dolls -- Her husband sculpted the eight-inch figurines and Emily sewed their dresses. Eventually, the dolls were designed with each of their eight grandchildren in mind.
"Emily's Angels" were sold in craft shops along the Jersey Shore.
In addition to creative projects, Emily enjoyed cooking, traveling to Europe, Florida and the Jersey Shore, and spending time with her husband in her English-style garden.
More than anything, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
"My mother was an angel herself," said her son, Raymond. "She was a very giving person. She was just a good human being."
In addition to her husband of 49 years, Ray, her son, Raymond, and her eight grandchildren, surviving Emily are her sons, John and James, and her daughter, Sueann.
