Three Moments
Bring me Spring Mom.
…That’s what I just asked the wind in my yard
Can’t wait to feel the dirt again; between my fingers and on my skin
I’ve decided to invite my Mother this year
Her spirit, my thoughts and my mind clear
I’ll dig the hole; she’ll plant the seed to make my garden grow with ease
The memories of your passing start to go away
I remembered taking you to the Bay
We ate ice cream, and walked along the shore
You took me back to the town’s General Store
There inside nothing had changed, like when I was young it all stayed the same
The Lighthouse flickered in the nighttime wind
It was just like when I was a kid
What a nice day we had - you remember Mom?
I know you do cause when it happened, you told Sue
We cried over the phone again
Tears shed, not just because you are now dead
Our tears where happy, yeah still sad; but there’s no bringing you back
So each others memories we shared
Flickers of thoughts run inside our heads, you in the garden
Tending to the flower beds
Your hair up in your trademark hive,
Hands in the earth make flowers thrive...
